Commitment to Food Safety
Food Safety is an ever-growing concern in the UK. Various food scares, real and imagined, have increased the demands for safety, security of materials in the food chain and the ability to track down all suspect materials in case of unforeseen problems. This has now extended beyond food itself to the ingredients used to feed animals used for food production. At SvG Intermol we have had a long-standing commitment to ensuring that our ingredients, systems and processes meet the stringent requirements in this regard both now and in the future. This issue is managed at Director level in the business; quality systems are orientated around food safety. Fundamental to our on going drive for quality and safety are the following:
FEMAS Certificated: as an independent audit of our HACCP and traceability systems, all Intermol sites are accredited to Feed Materials Assurance Scheme (FEMAS) standard.
ISO 9000 provides the basic methodology on which we are continually enhancing our quality performance to meet the rapidly changing requirements of the different levels in the food chain.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) techniques are actively applied to all stages of raw material supply, in terminal processes and delivery to customer premises.
NIR Technology has been pioneered by SvG Intermol for analysis of liquids. This means enormous numbers of samples can be analysed almost instantaneously. This has lead to a revolution in consistency of product and early detection of any problems.
Traceability and security of inbound raw materials is at such a level that we are confident we can meet all published and customer specific requirements both now and in the future. Our liquid products are manufactured from long established and trusted materials from approved, reliable and reputable sources. Additionally, processing in sealed systems and close attention to traceability in transport procurement significantly reduces any risk of contamination or adulteration.Built on this foundation, the company has a track record of innovation and is also established as the market leader in value-added products and services.
This commitment to providing innovative solutions to meet customers' needs started in the 1960's with the introduction of heated loads, followed by ground-breaking blending technology and has now led to a wide variety of products tailored to specific needs. For example, in addition to core products, feed manufacturers can now benefit from a flexible choice of revolutionary coating products and from services such as remote tank monitoring.
